I am currently the Unit Nurse Educator on the Cardiovascular Surgery Step-Down Unit at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, GA. On this page, you will be able to see a few of the projects and education materials I have created while in my position. This material has been used by other educators and staff members within the Heart and Vascular Service Line at EUH.
Presented at the CVICU and Cardiovascular Surgery Step-Down Orientation Class, covering topics regarding Post-Op Management and Transferring ICU patients.
Created a Diabetes Discharge Education Step-by-Step Guide to serve as the required education for all patients newly diagnosed with Diabetes or newly prescribed Insulin prior to discharge.
Developed educational flyers utilizing data from individual tracer audits during the VAD Joint Commission survey to achieve successful re-certification for our unit. Started a “TJC Corner” on unit’s Huddle Board where we discussed different educational points to improve charting on the floor.
