This paper describes the effects of having a Behavioral Emergency Response Teams (BERTs) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) trained nurses on patient outcomes in non-mental health floors. In my paper, I specifically discuss ways to improve mental health rates among cardiovascular patients, but I believe that the same model can be applied to other non-mental health floors.
