Hello! My name is Lillian Russo and I am the Unit Nurse Educator for the Cardiovascular Surgical Step-Down, Unit 6E at Emory University Hospital (EUH). I am pursuing a position as an Education Coordinator in the Greater Atlanta Area. I have worked as a registered cardiothoracic surgical nurse for almost three years, during which I became proficient in resource development, project management, and collaborative leadership. Prior to becoming a nurse, I worked within the public and global health spheres as a health administrator, educator, and researcher.
I completed the Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ABSN) Program at Emory University’s Nell Hodgson School of Nursing in 2019. Before nursing school, I received my degree in Health Promotion with a certificate in Global Health from the University of Georgia (UGA). Upon graduating UGA, I worked at Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University Hospital where I established the Arts in Health program and committee that brought in artists to volunteer their talents toward providing therapeutic outlets for our Winship patients, caregivers and staff members.
Currently, as a Unit Nurse Educator, I am an enthusiastic advocate for patients and fellow staff members, and I am determined to cultivate a unified and supportive environment through education. My passions have always lied in educating individuals on how they can improve their quality of life by combining public health endeavors with clinically focused treatment methods. I have always sought to augment my education with personal experience, working with healthcare personnel and learning about the medical field both globally and locally. These experiences have given me a diverse background in understanding how to be a passionate leader and empathetic educator.
The purpose of this website is to showcase my abilities in the field of nursing and public health through the projects I have completed and the research I have conducted. My goal is to take the public health and education development skills I have acquired and apply them in a health administrative setting through my future profession as an Education Coordinator.
